this weekend has been nothing short of spectacular. it was long overdue, and much too short.

sunday was the best quasi-impromptu day i've had in a looooong time. it all started very simply with lindsay's random IM "hey julie, it's gonna be 87 degrees on sunday. 8-7 fucking degrees. i wanna go the beach. wanna go?" before we knew it, we were meeting up with chris, fred, brad, and brant for a thoroughly entertaining day of beach, barbequing, and brews. memories from the day include, but are not limited to the following:
getting out of a ticket by asking the cop on a date (damn, i'm good), psycho minivans on winding backroads, gimping on the sand, girl talk, a stick up my ass, making fun of 16-yr olds who say "who wants to go in the H2O?!", some goodbrews with some good friends, stop and shop, barbequing without spatulas. but it was all good, since fred's got the magic stick, seaweed mustaches, "you ate paste and play-doh?! no wonder the greek civilization crumbled!", princess bride, getting lost in branford... "i know where i am!".... god, i'm such a man when it comes to directions, dairy queen.
thank you guys for such a well-needed day on the beach

monday was just as splendid. it was bertucci's annual softball tourney in north branford. as usual, i slept in (there's a big shocker), but had a fabulous time once i got there. so what if we lost our first two games and got eliminated?! we all had a great day regardless. memories include but are not limited to:
"hey hop-along", "and that's why i'm standing behind the fence... hold me back"... oh lauren :p, drinking "water" in the parking lot, driving 110 on I-95 to keep up with johnny while belting out "a praise chorus" by jimmy eat world with dave, whirlpools, chillin in the pool with a beer in each hand, just spending some much needed catch up time with my bertucci's brethren, buying a new car with kristen, seeing loki (randi's super-cute mini pinscher), passing out.

this weekend by itself made up for the month of involuntary lethargy. I would say it was well worth the sun poisoning. thanks guys for an absolutely wonderful weekend!!
